Be open-minded to where opportunities may lead you. It might not be the plan you had in mind or on paper, but you never know what doors it may open.
Your degree provides you with a number of skills that can be transferred into many contexts – so be confident!

Community Manager at Lincoln City Foundation
I studied a degree in Sport Development and was initially very focused on a career solely within this area. However, since graduating I have undertaken roles within Lincolnshire which have focused on both sport and community development. I worked at artsNK as Community and Youth Dance Coordinator where I provided project support and project management skills to several regional dance schemes and programmes, and then moved on to work at the local County Sports Partnership – Active Lincolnshire – where I managed a Sport England funded programme working with Lincoln College to increase students’ engagement in sport and physical activity. In my current role I have shifted more to a community development focus, although working for the charity of Lincoln City Football Club, I still get involved in sports-based projects.
The thing I enjoy most about working in Lincolnshire is The people. People are very open to connecting and collaborating and you can form a fantastic professional network.
